COMMISSIONER IDENTIFIES SUCCESS PANACEA AS LAGOS STUDENT WINS ANCOPSS’ NATIONAL COMPETITION

Lagos State Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Olayinka Oladunjoye has identified good mannerism, focus, extensive reading and diligence as the panaceas for success. Oladunjoye stated this over the weekend while formally receiving the 16 years old SS.II student of Ilupeju Senior Secondary School, Miss. Blessing Agundonu, who emerged the overall winner at the recently concluded All Nigerian Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools’ (ANCOPSS) national competition held in Ibadan. Blessing came first during the essay writing competition after beating all other contestants at both the South-West zonal level and at the National level. The Commissioner who was obviously elated expressed her delight at the feat of Miss Blessing Agundonu for doing the State proud just has she lauded her parents for inculcating the right moral values in her as well as giving her the right nutrition and urged them to continue to nurture her for the benefits of the State and the Nation. She also commended her teacher, Principal and Vice Principal for all their efforts in bringing out the best in Blessing adding whatever values, moral and education they are impacting unto their students are indeed a celebration of themselves as well. Mrs. Oladunjoye congratulated Blessing for her remarkable feat urging her to continue to be well mannered, focused and diligent about whatever she believes in and expressed confidence that she would go places and be a pride to not only her parents but Lagos State and the Nation in general. She also appreciated the efforts of ANCOPSS particularly the President of the Lagos State Chapter, Mr. Albert Phillips for identifying the talents of the children through the programmes they have put in place. The All Nigeria Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) annually organizes educational competitions for both Junior and Senior Secondary Schools across the country with the Junior Secondary Schools competing in quiz category which embraces Basic Science, Mathematics, English Studies, Basic Technology, and Computer Studies among others while the Senior Secondary Students compete in essay writing which starts from the Local Government level through the zonal and National levels.
