| Activities marking this year’s Children’s Day celebrations in the state will commence on Friday, May 21, 2010 with a special Jumat Service for students in the state public schools at the Secretariat Mosque, IPM Avenue, Alausa, Ikeja at 1.00p.m.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Education, the Children‘s Day Celebrations which is a week-long activity will also feature a Special Thanksgiving Service on Sunday 23rd May, 2010 at the Chapel of Christ The Light, Alausa, Ikeja at 10.00a.m.
The statement added that a Youth Forum will come up on Monday, May 24, 2010 at the SUBEB Hall, Maryland followed by Cultural Day and display by the pupils/students of the state in the Hall of Oregun Senior High School, Oregun, Ikeja on Tuesday May 25, 2010 commencing at 10.00.a.m.
The Grande finale of activities marking the Celebrations is the Parade and Rally on Thursday, May 27, 2010 (Children’s Day) at the Police College Parade Grounds, Oba Akinjobi Way, GRA, Ikeja.
Pupils and students of public and private schools all over the state are expected to grace the event which His Excellency, the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola SAN, is expected to take the salute and interact with the children. |
