LASTVEB TRAINS YOUTHS IN GARDENING AND NURSERY MAINTAINACE

No fewer than 15 graduates have emerged from a pilot skills for work initiative by Lagos State Technical and Vocational Education Board (LASTVEB) at maiden edition of Gardening and Nursery Maintenance. The Skills for Work Initiative is an intensive programme that runs between 6 – 9 months designed for Adults who need to learn one skill or the other. A new technical skills had just been added to the existing ones which is the Gardening and Nursery Maintenance. There had been consistent short supply of skilled worker in the Environmental Industry and that was the reason why LASTVEB in conjunction with SUSTAIN AFRICA EARTH Initiative and Society for the Landscape Architects of Nigeria and International Federation of Landscape Architects have decided to train unemployed youths so as to meet the demand.
