LASUBEB TASKS LIBRARIANS TO EMBRACE TECHNOLOGY

Teachers-Librarians in Public Primary Schools across Local Government Education Authorities (LGEA) in the state have been called upon to embrace the use of technology which aims at attracting pupils and helps in the preservation of materials. This was disclosed recently at a 3-day training for teachers librarians and assistant librarians on ways of improving the use of library through Digital Access to the Library in Public Primary school. In her welcome address, the Permanent board member in charge of Co-curricular activities in LASUBEB, Honourable Sherifat Adedoyin said as technology advances, there comes a need for librarians to align with the changes it brings in terms of knowledge, skills and abilities. “Our pupils are often referred to digital native and in order to meet with them at such a level, our libraries have to migrate from being analogue to digital” she said.
