NO NATION CAN GROW WITHOUT THE DEVELOPMENT HER INDIGENOUS LANGUAGE- ADEKANYE

Egbe Akomolede ati Asa recently rose from their congress with a resolve to promote Yoruba language in schools across the state noting that students are no longer interested in choosing the subject. At the congress, the Yoruba language teachers were exposed to the emerging trends and development in teaching the subject and also how to make it attractive to students. Mrs. Anike Adekanye, the Tutor General/Permanent Secretary (TG/PS) in her opening address disclosed that the mother tongue is an identity which everyone should be proud of and no nation can grow without her indigenous language. She therefore charged the teachers never to relent in promoting the language in schools. The President of the Association, Mrs. Zainab Olaitan said the association would continue to organize workshops for members on new development in the subject.
