The plight of children living with one form of disability or the other had been brought to the front burner by National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET) during the commemoration of International Day for Disabilities. The weeklong celebration had seminar for regular teachers who do not know how to identify some latent disability in children and how to manage them and there was also a walk campaign exercise in order to create awareness. The President of the Lagos State Chapter of the Association, Mr. Afolabi Oyebade disclosed that the needs of children with disability varies depending on the form of disability noting that some regular teachers who have these children in their classes often misunderstood their plight and how to accommodate them. In view of this, the Association decided to organize a seminar for these regular teachers so as to expose them to the world and needs of these children.
