Agege Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) recently held an Annual Public Lecture in honour of Pa. Joshua and Madam Julianah Olusanya and also commissions Agege LGEA staff clinic. Pa Joshua Olusanya served as headmaster at the famous St. Peters Primary School, Agege for so many years before he retired and Mrs. Julianah Olusanya was a nurse. Their outstanding efforts in moulding and shaping lives in Agege continue to live on even after their death. According to the Education Secretary (ES) of Agege LGEA, Hon. Olalekan Majiyagbe , the choice of topic for the event was borne out of the sudden rise and prevalent death from terminal illnesses in the society today. The topic of the lecture was Food and Recipe as Causative Factors for Terminal Ailment and Sudden Death. Dr. Sebastine Micheal Kayode of Eat Right Nig. Ltd. who led the team of guest lecturers at the event observed that there is a huge difference between eating and eating healthily. The latter involves eating of natural food and drinking of plenty of water while the former involves eating of processed food and high intake of sugar which has adverse effect on the body system. The consultant also advised that as one grows up the body metabolism weakens which means regular medical check up and body exercise is necessary. In her proactiveness , the LGEA also commissioned the staff clinic in the LGEA complex. According to Majiyagbe, the well being of the workers is a top priority of the government.
