School History
"The school, Vetland Senior Grammar School was established in October 1980. The initial name was Agege Secondary School before it was changed to Vetland Senior Grammar School when it was moved to the present site. The name Vetland reflects the name of what the compound was used for initially - Veterinary section of Ministry of Agriculture, Lagos State. The founding Principal is Mrs. Latona L. T. She was the principal between 1980 and 1989 when she was transferred to the Ikeja Zonal Office of TESCOM. Then the only functional buildings were the Jakande classrooms. But in August 1989, the school was blessed with three protype blocks of classrooms. The school with a population of just over 300 students and 10 teachers had a running battle with the market people who occupied part of the land. They refused to move into the present Garage market but eventually the school was victorious. Presently, the school has a population of 573 students (271 Boys and 302 Girls) and 42 teachers. The school has grown in strength and educational achievements. Vetland Students are known world wide in various spares of life. Notable Alumni include Hon. Oluyinka Ogundinmu (Former Member Lagos State House of Assembly - Former Chairman House Committee on Education). Some of the laurels won but not limited include the following; 1.
