School History
A brief history of Eko Akete Senior Grammar School The school was founded on 7th September, 1981 by the first Executive Governor of Lagos State. Alhaji Lateef Jakande, the pioneer students were made of fifth five boys and girls. The Initial name of the school was Idoluwo High School located in Isale Eko Area of Lagos Island; the school was later moved to the present location in 1991 and renamed Eko Akete Grammar School. The pioneer principal of the school was Mrs. R.I. Anah. The school was run as a single school combining the junior ad senior secondary school till 2002. In January, 2003, the two schools were separated into junior and Senior secondary schools, giving birth to Eko Akete Grammar School (SNR) with Mrs. A.T. Oyemade as the first principal. The school is presently headed by Mr. Iyun Abiodun Oladunjoye, Twenty -five (25) teaching staff and one (1) Non-Teaching staff. The school currently has a population of one thousand and Nine students (1009). The school writes the school certificate Examination for both WAEC and NECO.
