School History

The school was founded/ established on the 4th August, 1980 with the name Lewis Grammar School II which was formerly used as work yard for ministry of work, Simpson street, Lagos Island, Lagos. It was a mixed school when it was founded in 1980 with school I which is now Girls' Academy while Boys' Academy was school II. Until January 1983 when the government decided to separate them. The school was established as a result of cancellation of afternoon shift in Lagos State schools by the then Governor of the state, Alhaji Lateef Jakande to pave way for only morning school.
