School History

"The school was established in February 1948 made with raffia poles and leaves and was originally named Native Authority Primary School. The first headteacher of the school was Mr. Egbedeji. In 1955, the school received a new traditional building block-of-five-classrooms and was renamed Local Authority Primary Schoo Oretal. Thereafter in 1978, the school received a new UPE building block-of-six-classrooms and was renamed Local Government Primary School Oreta, and the name remains till date. In 2012, the school UPE block-of-six-classrooms and roofs were renovated by the Rotary Club of Lagos State, invited by Chief Ige Oluwo. Again in 2023, the UPE block-of-six-classrooms and roofs was renovated by Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative Limited (IDPIL) invited by Chief Adewunmi Ogunsanya, the chairman of IDPIL. Also in 2023, the old traditional building block-of-five-classrooms was demolished and a new UBE building block-of-five-classrooms was built in replacement by Igbogbo Bayeku LCDA under the auspices of the chairman Builder Olusesan Mayokun Daini, and commissioned by HRM Oba Semiu Kasali Orimadegun (Emugoriade 1st) the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom. The school won the Spelling Bee Competition held in 2019 by Igbogbo Bayeku LCDA by Master Israel Obong-Abasi, under tutilage of Mr. Tinubu W. I., and Mrs. Oshinibosi S. O.the headteacher. Also in 2024, the school won the best performing school in Ikorodu LGA Mrs. Buraimoh Saidat Oladele"
