School History

"The school was formally known as Army Children School 2 Ikeja. The school was founded on March 19th 1975. It was officially opened 14th April, 1975 with total number of children, Nine Hundred and Forty Five (945 pupils). Total number of classrooms was twenty-one (21) and number of approved teachers was twenty-one. The total number of first primary six pupils that took first school leaving certificate were seventy four (74). The first Pioneer Head teacher Mrs. I.O Adedeji, a Grade II Teacher 1972. The school was renamed Army Model Primary school Ikeja on September 18th , 1985 headed By Mrs. F. O A Sobande with population of about one thousand and three hundred (1,300 pupils). The new building of Army Model Primary school situated along first bank road Cantonment. The school building was demolished on 18th of September 2019 due to the vibration of the building which was a treat to pupils and staff life. The pupils and staff were merged with Army Children Primary school pending the reconstruction of another building for Army "
