School History

"HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL The name St. John Anglican Primary School, Oke-Oso was established by St. John Anglican Church Oke-Oso by the mission of Elder Jonah Edheredino, through which the church came into existence. The school was established by available record on 18th March 1955 but the story of the school started earlier than this because Chief Adelaja and Chief Muritala Ganiu the present Assistant Bale and Bale of Oke-Oso village pronounced that it started at Igbolota compound Oke-Oso. It was moved to the present permanent site in 1953/1954 with bamboo and raffia roofing. The school was established during the reign of Chief Pelujo John, the Bale who gave the land to the school free of charge. The school was firstly under the control of the church led by Rev. Omotayo from Ijebu province the only teacher and the Headmaster of the school was Mr. Ajayi S.A. The school was sited at Oke-Oso village because it was centrally located with 40 Pupils at inception and only accessible location of the place was through the lagoon. The villages that fed the school includes Oke-Oso village, Odo Temu, Igbodu village, Egbe village, Araga village and Ijako village The current headteacher is Mrs Kasali S.O."
