School History

"The United African Methodist Church (Eleja) Primary School was established on 19th January 1948. The Church Authority through the Late Amos Ogunlewe contracted Mr. Samuel Omosanya Oso,the principal of Lagos High School who offered them the technical knowhow on the establishment of the school. A committee of Twenty-Three (23) were formed by late Daddy Peter Okunsanya. It was resolved that the school be opened on January 19, 1948 with 20 pupils under Mr. Anthony Adebayo,the pioneer head teacher. In 1956, Rev. Supt. T.O Okunsanya and Oba Ogunlewe were appointed as the proprietor and the chairman respectively when the United African Methodist Church, Lagos took over the proprietorship of the school. Many teachers had worked for the growth of the school and the school has been performing excellently well both in academic and sports. "
