School History

"The establishment of Saviour's Primary School, formerly as African Church Primary 2, took effect from the 1st of October, 1986 but being the anniversary of Nigeria's independence, the school officially began operation on 2nd October, 1986. Mr Isaac Ola Ajayi deployed from the school's management committee Agege/Alimosho Secretariat resumed duty as the first Headmaster of the School. The School had eight pioneer teachers namely: 1. Mrs. A.O. Taiwo 2. Mrs. J.M. Abas 3. Mrs. V.O. Ogundero 4. Mrs I.A. Oladeji 5. Mrs. C.T. Akinyemiju 6. Mrs. F.A. Famuregun 7. Mrs. S.A. Kuku 8. Mr. A.R. Adewuyi - IRK Teacher. The school started with 493 pupils in attendance. Pry 2 - 80 Pry 3 - 131 Pry 4 - 190 Pry 5 - 92 There were no Primary one and Six Pupils in the premises and arrangements to split the school was ongoing by then. The population of the school increased greatly when parents were made aware that it was a new and separate school. On the 17th of October 1986, the first P.T.A meeting of the school was held with a large turn-out of about five hundred and seventy (570) parents in attendance. It was in this meeting that the school formerly known as A/C School 2 took it's new name; Saviour's Primary School, Orile- Agbado."
