School History

"THE HISTORY OF L.A.PRIMARY SCHOOL ERA-AWORI OJO L.G.E.A L.A primary school era was founded in1959 by the Awori district council.thepeople of Era village requested the government to establish a school for them by the time the school was established there was no school building for the pupils to use. The St. Peters Anglican church Era Was used as temporary classrooms. with time the families of Adesona Alarin and Ajose Aloko all of Era village donated the land on which the school moved to the permanent site after the completion of a classroom block.In 1980, the Lagos state government under the Governorship ofAlhaji Lateef Jakande built a functional classroom block for the school,presently,the first school building is collapsing and only the functional classroom block is in use. The school has made some progress during its 66 years of existence.The first set of primary six pupils pasted out in1965 and ever since then primary six pupils from the school take part in the first school leaving certificate examination each year. Many of the pasted pupils of the school have become prominent menand women In the society.However,The School has faced some problems too. The Major problems are its very low population of pupils and staff. The absence of a good motorable road to the village of Era also contributed to the very slow growth rate of the school. Those who have headed the school so far are Mr.j.O.B.AKAPO, The first headmaster of the school, followed by twenty one others, namely, Mr. OLAYANJU, MR C.S. OGUNBEWON, Mr, AINA, ALHAJI A.G.T.IDOWU fast forward up till present (2025) Mrs Adejumo lyabo Olukemi"
