To Attain our Standard Goal in Teaching and Learning of Pupils with Special Needs

School History

The school was established in 1956 within the National Orthopaedic Hospital Ward in Physiotherapy department by the red Cross Society who named it Royal Orthopaedic Special School. Initially it was a small unit attached to the ward with a few number of Pupils but eventually it was turned to a full fletch school. The school comprises of Pupils with Intellectual needs, some with multiple challenges, Autism, Down syndrome and cerebral palsy. The funding and running of the school was taken over by Lagos State Government from 1976.thereby subjecting it to all the policies of State Government on Education within the premises of Federal Government Institution. The school is classified into stimulation class(Nursery Section), Trainable Mentally Challenged Class(Vocational Training) and Educable Mentally Challenged Class that is those that can go up to JSS/SSS class depending on their level of ability
