School History
"Temu Community Senior High School was formally established on the 30th of September 2025 as a strategic expansion of the already-existing Temu Community Junior High School. Its creation represented a deliberate policy intervention aimed at consolidating access to quality post-basic education within Temu Community and its surrounding environments. The initiative was championed by Honourable Wale Raji, MHR, whose advocacy and support provided the political and developmental momentum required to translate the vision into a functional academic institution. The establishment of the senior secondary school was driven by the growing demand for continuity in secondary education for students graduating from the junior arm, as well as by the broader objective of improving educational opportunities for learners within the host community and neighboring localities. From inception, the school was conceptualized not merely as an extension facility, but as a long-term educational investment designed to produce academically competent, morally grounded, and socially responsible citizens. Strategically, Temu Community Senior High School is located within the same premises as the junior secondary school at No. 1, Orion Akin Street, Temu. This shared location was intentionally adopted to foster academic integration, operational efficiency, and a seamless transition for students progressing through the various stages of secondary education. The co-location also supports a unified institutional culture and allows for the optimization of physical infrastructure and administrative oversight. Guided by a clear philosophical framework, the school operates under the mission statement: “To build a firm foundation in each child,” while its vision—“Firm foundation, future learning”—captures its long-term aspiration to prepare learners for lifelong academic pursuit and responsible citizenship. These guiding principles continue to shape instructional delivery, student development initiatives, and staff engagement strategies. Administrative leadership has been a central pillar in the school’s formative years. Under the stewardship of Mrs. Obine Yemi Omolara, the pioneer and current Principal, the institution has laid strong organizational and academic structures designed to promote excellence, discipline, and holistic development. Her leadership has focused on establishing robust teaching standards, cultivating a nurturing school climate, and positioning the school as a model public institution within the district. Staff resumption occurred on 30th September,2025, with an inaugural team comprising Mrs. Liadi A.S (now transferred), Mr. Ahmed M.A, Mr. Orekoya O.O, Mrs. Lawal A.C, Miss. Alaba M.B, and Miss Akinkuoli O.J. Operational activities commenced in October 2025. Student registration officially opened on the 7th October 2025, followed by the commencement of academic activities on the 9th October 2025, with an initial enrolment of twenty-seven (27) students a modest but promising beginning that underscored community confidence in the new institution. A major milestone in the school’s early history was recorded on the 15th January 2026, when the facility was formally commissioned in a high-profile ceremony that underscored its strategic importance to the state’s educational agenda. The event was graced by the Minister of Education at the time of this documentation, Dr. Tunji Alausa, alongside the Commissioner for Education, Lagos State, Mr. Jamiu Alli-Balogun, and the building’s sponsor, Honourable Wale Raji, among other distinguished government officials and community stakeholders. The commissioning symbolized official endorsement, strengthened public confidence, and marked the school’s transition from a developmental project to a fully operational public secondary institution. Today, Temu Community Senior High School stands as a testament to collaborative governance, community advocacy, and purposeful educational planning. From its conception as a continuity pathway for junior secondary graduates to its commissioning by senior government functionaries, the school’s evolution reflects a commitment to expanding access, raising standards, and laying enduring foundations for future generations of learners.
