School History

"The establishment of Tohon Senior Secondary School was initiated by the Parents’ Forum, which came together to request the creation of a senior secondary section after the successful graduation of two consecutive sets of students from the junior secondary school. On the 7th of October, 2025, an official request letter was submitted to TESCOM Lagos, Alausa, under the chairmanship of Mr. Dosu Mathew. Approval was subsequently granted on the 6th of November, 2026, through Mr. Olufemi Asaolu, for the Permanent Secretary. The approval permitted the school to tentatively use six classrooms within the junior secondary school to commence senior secondary operations for the 2025/2026 academic session, with the expectation that the school would secure and develop a permanent site thereafter. Mrs. Taiwo, the pioneer principal, alongside her staff members, including Mr. Hunkokoe Anuoluwapo Senayon worked collaboratively with the community. Their joint efforts, through contributions, suggestions, and support, played a vital role in laying the foundation of the senior secondary school. Currently, the school is still operating within the junior secondary school structure. However, the community continues to work closely with the school management to actualize the proposed plans and ensure the successful establishment of a permanent senior secondary section."
