School History
*History of Community Primary School, Erepoto, Epe* Community Primary School, Erepoto, Epe was established in February 2nd 1977 by the Lagos State Government to provide accessible and quality primary education for children in Erepoto community and neighbouring towns within Epe Local Government Area. The establishment of the school was part of the government’s effort to promote literacy, moral upbringing, and social development among young learners. At inception, the school operated with few classroom blocks, limited learning facilities, and a small population of pupils. However, the commitment and dedication of the pioneer headteachers (Mr T A Genty) and teachers helped to lay a strong academic and moral foundation for the growth of the institution. With continuous support from the government, several headteachers, parents, and the host community, the school has expanded in both physical infrastructure and enrolment over the years. The school was divided on May 25th, 2009 into two tag: i.) Community Primary School I ii.) Community Primary School II Both on the same compound. Community Primary School, Erepoto, Epe has built a reputation for academic excellence and discipline. The school has consistently recorded excellent performance in the Common Entrance Examination, with many pupils gaining admission into reputable junior secondary schools across Lagos State. In addition to general academic success, the school has also distinguished itself in Spelling Bee competitions, where pupils have demonstrated outstanding proficiency in spelling, pronunciation, and vocabulary usage at inter-school and local government levels. The school is equally known for its remarkable achievements in sporting activities. Pupils actively participate in athletics, football, relay races, and other inter-school sporting events, often winning medals and trophies that have brought honour and recognition to the school and the Erepoto community. These sporting activities have helped in discovering and nurturing young talents while promoting teamwork, discipline, and physical fitness among learners. Furthermore, the school places strong emphasis on character formation, leadership development, and co-curricular activities such as cultural displays, quiz competitions, and health programmes. These initiatives have contributed to the holistic development of pupils and strengthened the school’s reputation as a centre of learning and excellence. Today, Community Primary School, Erepoto, Epe remains one of the notable public primary schools in the area, committed to sustaining high academic standards and producing responsible, confident, and well-educated citizens who will contribute
