School History

"Onigbongbo Primary School was founded on the 22nd of February by Alhaji Lateef Jakande , the former governor of Lagos State as Community Primary School, Wasimi sited at 7Adeoye Adeyemi Street Wasimi, the same place it is occupying today. this land is said to be donated by Chief MAYA who handed it over to the Baale of Wasimi Community Chief Adisa Jimoh Lawal. The initially structure was the functional type commonly known as Jakande Building over years, the school has grown with another block build by DAYSTAR CHRIATIAN CENTRE and commissioned by HONOURABLE OBASA the executive chairman of ONIGBONGBO Local Government Council on the 29th November 2006.The school shares the premises with Community Junior High School and Health Centre. Throughout the existence. the school has benefited from several improvements and renovations, with some external contributions from individuals and government representatives. The current HeadTeacher is Mrs. Buraimo G.O supported by Mrs. Williams K.O. There are 10 teaching staff and 2 non teaching staff. The school has undergone several advancements, including the donations of educational tools like dictionaries, bags, textbooks, writing materials, furnitures, building resnovation from various benefactors, including Viva Lamour LION CLUB, ROTARY CLUB and Hon. James Faleke. These contributions have helped improve learning conditions, infrastructure, and general educational resources. To end it up the Board also approve the charge of Community Primary School Wasimi to ONIGBONGBO PRIMARY SCHOOL WASIMI on the 6th of January 2022."
