School History

"Brief History of the school Anglican primary Akanun Adamo Ikorodu. The School was founded on 6th Sept 1949 at the church building . It is located at Akanun village off Agunfoye road ,Adamo and covered an area of about 5031m². The first headteacher was Mr Majasan who opened the school with four (4) other teaching staff. The site at which the school was located is termite infested area and as much havoc has been done to the school properties . There are just three communities that feed the school, that is Akanun community Agunfoye community and Adamo community respectively. The school started with traditional mud building of three (3)classrooms tagged block A, later UPE building of three( 3) classroom tagged block B and administrative block tagged block (C) we also constructed the school recorded tremendous increase in population as at 1959 which recorded about 89 pupils. As at 1970 to 1986, the population swelled to 150 pupils . It declined towards 1994 in population of just 90 pupils,since then increase in population has not been stabilized due to different factors militating against the school. By and large,the school recorded some prominent sons of the soil who passed through the school , like Mr Banjoko Jacob Oluwole ,a retired headteacher at LG Primary school, Igbe and some others . In 2009, Hon Jokomba Ademola,the chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA; came to the aid of the school and renovated Block A,B and C made up of administrative office and two (2) classrooms . He also provided a borehole for the school but no provision for electricity nor generator. This eventually motivated the parents forum of the sch to provide electricity and generator for the school. In 2022, a Sustainable Development Goal (SDGs) was achieved through Hon BabaJimi Benson, by constructing a block of three classrooms tagged Block D. In 2026, a block of three classrooms (block C) was renovated by Sen Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru to enhance a conducive learning environment. "
