School History

The school was established on the 27th September, 1980. with pupils deshifted from St. Judes Primary School Ilasamaja ,Layi Oyekanmi Primary School is located Mushin at No 1 Idowu Omolodun Street , Ilasamaja Mushin Lagos State The school was founded by the civilian government of Lagos State. Alh. Lateef Jakande in order to bring education close to children of Ilasamaja area and environ The school took off with pupils primary 1-v in 1980 . The school was named after a prominent Chief known as Layi Oyekanmi and also the owner of Layi Oyekanmi Street, Mushin .It has four main blocks before but now it has proto type structure by Ubec . The first headmaster of the school was Mr. Fasoro ,while the present headteacher is Mrs. Ayankoya G.A. The academic performance of the pupils is very encouraging couple with discipline .The population of the school has reduced drastically .The school took part in Merit Award and won 1st prize in Sports
