School History

Edward Blyden memorial school was founded by Late J.B. Albert, a native of Akure in Ondo state. He was the proprietor. The school was first situated at Apongbon with 60pupils. He was a devoted Educationist with keen interest in Historical facts like Edward a Negro Nationslist . The school moved to Okesuna square in 1950. Mr J.B. Albert died on the 19th June 1953 at the age of 45years. After his death the school was master minded and managed by Mrs. R.A. Olayomi a devoted teacher and a staff during his life time. In 1956the school was taken overby the Lagos state government due to increase in population in 1958 the school started running two shifts morning and afternoon. The school had brillient Education performance expecially in the first school leaving certificate Exam. had a lot of devoted Educationist as head teacher and teachers. Presently Mrs N.C.Egbuna is the headteacher of the school.
