School History
Army Children High School was founded on 7th September, 1981, by the Lagos State Government for the Army Children HQ 311, RAF, EPE. The school was located inside the Army Barracks. The first principal was Late Mr. S.O.Akinlagun. The school population as at then was 71 boys and 29 girls. The school has won many awards at local, state, national and international competitions both in academics and co-curriculum activities. After the relocation of the soldiers to Alamala Barracks at Abeokuta, Ogun State in 1996, the school was moved to the Mammy Market , when the Lagos State Government moved some departments of Lagos State University from Ojo to Epe. Army Children Senior High School, Epe, came into existence on 6th January, 2003, due to government policy of splitting schools into Junior and Senior Secondary Schools for better efficiency and effective administration. The principals since then are ; Mr Metibemu, C.A. (2003 - 2005) Mrs Osade, W.A. (2006-2007) Mr Adeyemi , S.O. (2008 - 2009) Mrs Mosebolatan, M.A. (2008 - 2017) Mr Obedat, S.A. Future Plans for the School
** To continue encouraging staff and students to work hard so that students moving to the next class pass objectively, without any internal or external influence whatsoever. This is being done through monitoring the administration of tests and compliance with marking guides to mark scripts and proper monitoring of lessons taught and students attendance in school. Once this is achieved, the school can continue to present candidates that will sit and pass external examinations such as wassce & neco very well on their own . ** Inculcate in our students the ethics of hard work and making them understand that hard work pays. This we have began implementing by bringing on board alumni of the school to come and sensitize the students, encourage them and reward those showing commendable attitudes. Going forward, the school intends creating time to bring accomplished personalities , not necessarily old students of the school, to address students, share their experiences with students, to further encourage them to show more commitment to their academic pursuits. ** Create a platform where outstanding students and teachers are rewarded in the areas of academic excellence, punctuality & regularity in school, neatness & comportment, good behaviour, etc. ** Develop strong ties with parents so they can show more interest in activities going on in the school, as well as giving back to the community through getting involved in community services. ** I intend to enforce strict compliance with promotion criteria from one class to the other , especially those moving from SS2 to the terminal class of SS3, while not leaving the SS1 students going to SS2 out of the equation. ** Ultimately, by the Special Grace and Mercy of God, I hope anytime I leave the school , the school would be on a good footing to compete favourably academic wise, and in other spheres ,with students of other schools, not only in Lagos state but Nigeria in general.
