School History

"African Bethel Primary School, Maya was founded on January 2nd, 1946 by the African Bethel Church Society. The School was situated at Plot 4, Iloyi Street, Maya Village along Itokin Road in Ikorodu LGEA. The school started with only fifty pupils with two teachers. One of the teachers was Mr. Olofunsusi and the 1st Headteacher was Mr. Fajula while the church was used as the classroom. The Perimeter of the school landed property was 24140m with the length of 170m and Breadth of 140m. In 1955, when free Universal Primary Education was introduced in Western Region by Chief Obafemi Awolowo, two block classrooms were built and more pupils were admitted while the number of teachers increased."
