School History
African Church Primary School, Akowonjo, derived its name from the African Church Organization. It was established in 1955. The school started with two teachers namely Mr M.J.O Onakoya the first headteacher and Mr J.M Otun, There were two classes of primary one with forty children altogether classes were held under a temporary shed very near to a kolaut tree the heart of Akowonjo village. Later they moved down to the permanent site on on which a block of 3 classroom were erected. Since then the school has been growing from strengh to strengh. As at now the school is having a prototype story bulding
