Our Mission Statement
The mission of St. Joseph's Cath. Sch. Elegbata is to maximie learning opportunities for each student. Our mission is to offer students high learning opportunities by creating appropriate educational and social opportunities. We have committed to setting high standard in all areas and ensuring in an accountable and responsible way that the means and resources required to promote effective learning are available. Once the mission statement is carefully drafted the next step is to consider what school objectives or aims should be pursued in view of the mission statement.
  
School History
St. Joseph catholic school Elegbata Lagos was founded by the Roman Catholic mission on the 16th day of March 1946. History reavealed that St. Joseph Cath. School Compound was the first port of call for the early missionarries who first came to Nigeria in the 19th Century. Hence the place was called the cradle of catholicism in Nigeria. The school is suituated at number 16, cole str. Elegbata - Lagos. The area was known in the past as "Ebute Moses" which serve as a fish market . The inhabitants then were mainly fishermen. The first building was demolished to give room for a modern school building in 1959. The school consist of two blocks of 24 classrooms.
