School History
The schools were splitted by the then zonal inspector in charge of the school Mr. S.O. Dada on Wednesday the 13th day of Dec. 1976. There was a fish pond in the complex where people used as fish depot thereby the name was derived. At first, the school took off with twenty on teachers and nineteen classes. The first headteacher was Mrs. M.A. Ogunsanwo and the assistant headteacher that time was Mr. I.M. Agbavobor, the school was formerly known as Mushin Local Government School. Later it was changed to Eleja Primary School on the 14th day of January 1982. The school was moved to Surulere School Management Committee in May 1989. Mushin Local Government Education Authority took over the School. In 1984 a Home Economics centre was attached to the school, where the six schools in the Eleja complex are attending up to date. Several headteachers have served in the school among them are Mrs. O.O. Adeduntan, Mrs. M.O. Adebayo ,others ,the current headteacher is Mrs. C.U. Ndife
