Our Mission Statement
To lay foundation in the following areas ;- Home management , Clothing and Textiles Food and Nutrition To improve the pupils vocationals skills so that they will be self reliant and be a useful citizen to the society at large.
  
School History
Domestic Science centre, Anglican Girl's School, now known as Home Economics Centre, LILG, was established in the middle of May 1869 by the CMS mission of England. In 1950, the school started under the headmistress - ship of Mrs Ore Fagbemi. The centre was first managed and run by the Anglican mission before the Goveernment took over, it was for girls only. On sept. 1st 1980/81 session pupils from seventeen schools were transfered from Lagos Domestic Science centre Idoluwo to the centre. The final shifting of the centre, pupils, teachers, and property to Lagos Island Government school LILG Okesuna was on 9/10/95. for 1995/96 academic session.

Future Plans for the School
A well equiped theory and practical class. A modern equipment to be provided to enhance efficient and effective teaching process. That both girls and boys should be allowed to attend home economics centre. Field trips -Visit of pupils to spinning factories , val, Nestle, Dry cleaners workshops e.t.c

  • To send staff to seminar and workshop both local and international
  • Raw materials for dayto day practical work available by concern authority
  • Modernise equipment should be made available to and practical work of the pupils
