Our Mission Statement
To educate the pupils to become self-reliant as they are tutored to be self practically oriented, in the following skills;- Fashion designing, producers of soap and pomade, caterers, home interior Bakers, Hotel managers, educators, dry cleaners exterior decorators batic tie and dye designers etc. It is our mission to train and educate the pupils to become usefull to themselves in future.
  
School History
The centre was under Surulere Baptist Primary School untill Oct.1995 when three teachers Mrs.Mozie V.O.,Mrs Onwuka R.N. and Mrs.Porbeni F.E were deployed from other Home Economics Centre in Surulere L.G.E.A The Home Economics centre Surulere Baptist became autonomous in June 1997, two teachers and one non teahing staff were deployed again to the centre Ever since then 14 schools have been in attendance.

Future Plans for the School
Practical work should be encouraged and allowed in the Home economics Centre by the government for actualisation of our mission statement above. This will enable all the pupils in attendance in the centre to be gainfully employed in future as it is our mission to produce self dependent individuals.

  • The government should recognise the home economics centre by
  • by equipping the centre with modern home economics equipment.
  • Allow and provide for practical in the centre.
  • Organised competition among Home economics centre.
  • Provide adequate manpower teacher aids and furniture so as to facilitates learning.
