School History
Anwar-ul Islam Girls' High School was founded as the Movement's post-primary institution for girls only on the 4th of October, 1972. The signatories at the commencement of the school were Alhaji K.D. Oshodi and Mr. J.A. Gbadamosi. All the blocks of classroom were inherited from Ahmadiya Grade 111 Teachers Training College which was closded down in 1966. On the 19th of February, 1972, the Lagos State Government approved the school. It started classes with seventy-two (72) students and 4 teaching staff and the first principal, Mrs. M.A. Ketiku who was in charge of the school until 1976. Other principals who have ran the school till date are, Mrs. O.O. Sode, (1976 -1982); Mrs. K.A. Giwa, (1982 - 1989); Mrs. S.A. Ajao, (1989 - 1990); Alhaja T.M. Akinwande (1990 - 2001); Mrs. B.F. Akorede (2001 -2008); Mrs. F.S. Afolabi, (2008 - till date)
