School History
The school was founded in 23rd February 1982 by the then Lagos State Governor Alhaji Lateef Jakande. The school was founded in the year 1982 by Lagos State Governor, Alhaji Lateef Jakande. The land where the school was located was given by Hon. Chief Maja while handed over to Chief (Alhaji) Adisa Jimoh Lawal, (the Baale of Wasimi Community). The first headteacher of the school was Mrs. H.L. Odibo while Mrs. J.O. Akindina was the Assistant headteacher, (with six (6) classroom teachers.) under the head teacher of Mrs. H.L. Odibo and Assistant head teacher Mr. J.O. Akindina. The name of the school was then called Wasimi Primary school Wasimi. It has 2 blocks of 12 classrooms. The administration office which consisted of the headmistress office and the assistant head teacher's office was caved created out of the twelve classroom. The first Parent Teacher Association meeting was inaugurated for Wasimi Community Primary School Wasimi Maryland on 15th May, 1982. The f irst school leaving certificgate examination took place at Bola Memorial School, Onigbagbo Abule Ikeja on the 9th July, 1982. The school has grown from strength to strength both in academics and sports. The first inter-house sports of Wasimi Community Primary School took place at Military Cantonmenmt, Ikeja. Maja House came first, Solomon House came 2nd, Bale House came 3rd and Adebumbo House Came 4th. The population of the school has been gradually decreasing due to family planning programme. In 29th November, 2006 Day Star Christian Centre constructed 6 modern classrooms and donated to the school. The keys of the classroom, was given to the headteacher Mr. Awolokun E.M. At present, the population of the school is 240 pupils from the primary session, and Nursery is 36 pupils in attendance. The present Headteacher of the school is Mrs. Awolokun E.M. and the assistant head teacher is Mrs. M.N. Egwim with ten teaching staffs and fifteen non-teaching staffs
