School History
Gbeleyi primary School was carved out of African Church Primary School, Old Alagbado Road, Lagos State in the year 1982 by the then school's management committee, Agege under the secretaryship of Mrs. Jibowu. The school was taken to a new site at Alakuko few kilometers from the former place. Mr. Odulami was the first headteacher of the school. The 1st six classrooms building was built by Alhaji. K. Jakande a civilian Governor of Lagos State. The building was later replaced with a prototype of 36 classrooms in the year 22nd March, 1991 by Governor Colonel Raji Rasaki. On the 20th June, 2009 the school was splitted into two schools. This gave the school the name Gbeleye Primary School I, Alakuko.

To instill in the pupils sense of hard work and honesty. To make the school to be a model to the neighbouring school and produce pupils who will fitf in well for any society they found themselves.
