School History

The school started on methodist high school compound as methodist school 3 in 1981. Mrs E.N. Ogundimu was the principal with total of 228 population. In 1983, the school was renamed Herbert Macaulay Girls high school and moved to the permanent site just at the beginning of the 3rd mainland bridge. Years later the building collapsed and the school relocated to 2 Birrel avenue to share with Birrel Avenue high school. In September 2001 the school was renamed Herbert Macaulay Girls senior high school, Sabo-Yaba, the name its known with till date. Many principals had worked here but the current principal is Mrs A.B. Akintade and Mrs T.A. Osode as vice principal with a population of 529 students and 25 teachers.
