School History
The school started in Festac Town in September, 1978, with nine foundation pupils. A prefab was constructed with two classrooms. With the aid of flyers distributed all over Festac Town and environs, we announced our opening. Only nine children showed up the very day of resumption. We remained undaunted. By the end of that term, the population increased to thirty. By the end of that year, the children were over fifty in number. Thank God. I started the school with one teacher, Mrs. Edna Ukah and one attendance Mrs. Kolade, both were dedicated workers. Two more prefab extensions were added as the pupils increased in number. A lot of both indoor and outdoor equipment were provided for stimulating learning. So a plan of eight classrooms was made. I raised a loan with ACB using one of my fathers houses as collateral. With this loan, I was able to build only four classrooms out of the approved plan. Eventually, from the money realized from the school and with financial aids from parents and other sources. The remaining four classrooms were completed. The eight classrooms bungalow building was then reinforced and more classrooms added on top. This was to accommodate an increase in population of pupils. A second building was constructed consisting of a big hall above and four classrooms below. This still could not meet the growth in population of the pupils, so an application was sent to the F.H.A. for some more acres of land beside the existing school, this was granted. This gave rise to a large building consisting of twenty-four classrooms etc and also a large play ground. At present, the population of the school is over three hundred and fifty pupils. My dream is to have this school grow into University by special Grace of God. To God be all Glory.
