School History

Sheikh Abubakar Gumi Memorial School was established in September, 1999 as a non-profit making school. It was established with the primary aims of building youths that are intellectually empowered and morally sound to face future challenges, hence the school motto emerged as "'Education is the best legacy" The Gumi school was named after an erudite Islamic scholar in the northern part of Nigeria. It started with Kindergarten and Nursery Classes of not more than 30 pupils Within few years, the academic and moral performances of the school as well as the structure grew from strength which has become the talk of the town. The school was established by a religious organization called J.I.B.W.I.S
