School History

St. Micheal Anglican Church (SMAC) College was envisioned by highly inspired men and women of God on 24th September, 2001. This was under the spiritual headship of the then Vicar-in-Charge Rev. Rufus Ifeanyichukwu Ikeh. The official opening was performed by His Grace, the Most Rev. E.A. Adenowo Ph.D, the Arch -Bishop of Lagos Province and current Bishop of Lagos. At inception the college had an encouraging student population of about two hundred, the staff strength was eleven and this has increased tremendously over the years while at today the staff strength is forty one and Mr. G.O. is the current Principal having taken over from Mrs. Oby Ilogbunam, who was then acting Principal. The church's hall was temporary used for academic activities while work was going on in the school permanent site (2002). It is a co-educational institution and operates junior and senior levels of secondary education and received its approval from Lagos Sate Ministry of Education on the 17th November, 2006. It operates the Nigerian Curriculum and preparing students for Lagos State Junior Secondary School Certificate Examination. (JSSCE), West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) conducted by West African Examination Council (WAEC) and the Senior Secondary School Examination (SSCE) conducted by National Examination Council at senior level. The school presented the first set of students for the Junior School Certificate Examination (JSCE) in 2003, and formed the nucleus of students that wrote the first Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) in 2006. It is worth mentioning that SMAC College results especially in external examinations have been very encouraging and have improved over the years, these were made possible by our experienced,qualified and seasoned teachers, with the presence of well equipped facilities that aid conducive learning environment and performing well extra curriculum activities, sports, intral and inter schools comp
