School History
During the second republic, the then governor of Lagos State Chief Lateef K. Jakande embarked on the construction of New Functional School on any space available to solve the problem of high school enrolment with inadequate accommodation for it, and also the problem encountered by teachers and students who attended afternoon school in the days of Shift System Of Education in the 1970's. Government College IV. Osborne Road was one of the beneficiaries of the functional schools which was officially opened on the 7th of September 1981 with 240 students in form one, and four teaching staff including the Principal. On the 4th of January 1985, a Block of 17 classrooms was formally opened by the Military Government of Lagos State, Captain Gbolahan Mudashiru and the name of the school was changed from Government College IV to WAHAB FOLAWIYO Junior High School, Osborne road, Ikoyi. There was Division of schools into junior and senior school by December 23, 2002 and on 6th January 2003, WFJHS came into existence with one Principal, 9 Teachers, 4 Non-Teaching Staff and 688 Students

Future Plans for the School
To correct a block of six rooms as temporary accommodation for staff to stay within the school, Monday - Friday so as to alleviate their suffering on transportation to and fro school everyday. The rooms can also be used to accommodate Youth Corpers posted to the school if required. The school will still require a block of storey building for classrooms and offices.
