School History
The school’s name is Lanre Awolokun High School Gbagada under the Education District II, zone III Somolu. A co-educational school with a population of about 1056 students and 32 teaching and 4 non-teaching staff. The school is situated in the heart of Lanre Awolokun Street Gbagada Estate Phase II. The entrance is beautifully decorated with the sight of Horticultural Garden. The school has a gate painted black. It has a block for classrooms and administrative offices while another block is shared with Gbagada Senior Grammar School for Science Laboratories. It has a playground at the center of the school complex. Our vision is to promote efficiency and effectiveness in human development and skill aquisistion and this would be achieved by our mission statement which is eliminating mediocrity and promoting vibrant and virile citizens. The school Lanre Awolokun was founded on the 17th September,2007 after the split of Gbagada Senior Grammar School into autonomous secondary schools. Thirty teaching and five non-teaching staff with with students of eight hundred and three were deployed the then Gbagada Senior Grammar School II as pioneer members with Mr. O.A. Odusanya as the acting principal of the school in 2007. In September, 2010, Mrs. Adams Abiodun Ibironke was posted to the school as the second principal after Mr. Agidi’s statutory retirement from the service. On the 13th of October 2010, the school has undergone a full scale recognition inspection by a team of inspectors from Alausa with Mr. O.E. Sobaki as the team leader. The school did not disappoint herself and was certified to register her first set of students for WAEC and NECO for 2011/2012 session. The students of the school are exposed to various subjects that bring out the total child that would be self reliant as they are adequately trained and prepared for life. Though the school is young, the school has gone to places owing to her inputs in sports, academics, competitions

Future Plans for the School
To improve students performance through intensive coaching and Mentor- Mentee relationship between teachers and students To organize more Enlightenment Campaign for Parents on the need to the Education of their children. To ensure active participation of all stakeholders in Education (Parents, NGOs, Communities) To make learning more attractive to students by ensuring that activities of clubs and societies are directed towards solving immediate challenges facing learning in the school.
