School History

The school was founded in 1974 by the late Mrs M. Folasade BIOBAKU when her husband, the vice-chancellor; Professor S.O. BIOBAKU retired from the University of Lagos. She first established a nursery school named â€œIyaniwura Nursery Schoolâ€. Parents were so impressed with her curriculum and school philosophy, they encouraged her to start a primary section as well. Iyaniwura Nursery and Primary School (now Basil International Schools) was the first school in Ilupeju. In 1997 she formed the secondary school which is known as Basil College. The three schools now operate under the name of Basil International Schools. Basil College has a long history of academic successes and we are delighted to confirm that the school has kept up the tradition of academic excellence, teaching the children life skills and being innovative.
