School History

It is located in a serene corner of Agiliti Phase 2, an area devoid of distraction and very conducive to effective teaching and learning. The School is built to cater for children from 3 months to 16years (creche to upper basic classes). Firstgate can boast of modern teaching aids, up to date recreational facilities, computer and musical instruments. The School Teaching in the pre-basic and basic section adopts the Montessori Method of Education. The Nursery children enjoy practical life exercises and sensorial education, which stimulate and develop their senses to cope with the rigors of future learning. Social Development Children are exposed to learning experiences that enable them learn to live and get on with other people. They learn to make friends, share equipment, help one another, be polite, play and work in groups, stand for oneself and solve disagreement without fighting. Physical Development All pupils in the school need exercises that will enhance their growth. Simple exercises using climbing frames, balls, loops, ropes etc are engaged in depending upon the age of the individual. Intellectual Development The use of the Montessori Method of Education creates a set pattern in the learning of Mathematics and English at this level. Older pupils are taught to use the Computer in analyzing everyday problems equipping them to be able take on holiday jobs in organizations.
