Our Mission Statement
The mission of Nifty Steps School is to provide a unique and distinctive education aimed at moulding each pupil to be a self-confident, inquiring, positive and tolerant person with a well-rounded character and an independent mind which will enable the child stand up for himself/herself and be of value to the larger community.

School History
Steps School started operation in October 2008 with the objective to provide a unique form of education to the Nigerian children. Our population has grown steadily from just five pupils and three teachers in the kindergarten class in 2008, to a current figure of 155 pupils and 21 teachers. Over 85% of these teachers are either NCE graduate or hold a degree in Education. Three others are currently in the middle of their NCE certification course. Our Motto, crescat scienta vita excolatur, which is Latin for “let knowledge grow; let life increase,” underpins our earnest desire to provide an education designed to enable our children to discover their strengths, and to make the most of their talents in life. The held belief at Steps School is that when a child is carefully guided, he/she can begin, even at tender age, to tap on the inner resources that can lead to achieving his/her full life potentials. It is no wonder that our pioneer pupils who are now in Primary 1, are not only articulate in mathematics but are also today well able to read, even newspapers, as well as write in simple sentences. We have since 2008 established so good a testimonial that many parents have mounted pressure on us to enroll children in higher classes beyond the level of our pioneer pupils. We now run classes up to Primary 4.

Future Plans for the School
We plan to expand our current 14 classrooms school block and construct a school hall, as well as establish language and music laboratories - so we can free up space and improve on our storage and retrieval ability.

Support Required
  • We do need financial assistance to enable us acquire buses for pupils commutting from as far as Parafa, Ogijo, Odogunyan and Igbogbo.
  • We also need to increase the number of computers available in the school to enable many more pupils to have hands-on computer experience.
  • Obtaining loan to expand/upgrade our facilities is a herculean task. We can do very much more with our children if we can upgrade some of our facilities.
