School History
Surulere Girl's Secondary School was founded in Sept. 1980 as New Era Girls Sec. School II by the Jakande administration of Lagos state. The first site of the school was at Ogumola close Surulere with Mrs. Adegoke,W.A as the principal. The School was moved to the present site Fela Ransome Kuti ground at the Moshalashi Road, Surulere in June 1987 where the school assumed its present name, Surulere Girls Sec. School. by the 6th Jan. 2003, the final implementation of another policy on education. In Lagos state was witnessed in which all the public schools in the state were split ed into senior and junior secondary schools. The pioneer principal of the school was Mrs. V.O. Apara, Mrs. Sanmabo became the principal of the school on 16th Jan. 2008 .Apart , from the present Principal Mrs. O.A. Okeowo, six other Principals have worked in the school.
